Detention reform is putting ICE employees at risk now.

The Houston Chronicle reported yesterday about the ICE detention reform measures that are being put into place as we speak.

These relaxed policies are not only going to place ICE employees at risk of physical harm, but they are going to be a drain on taxpayers across the country.

Sure, it would be nice to wear your own clothes instead of a jumpsuit while you're being detained for breaking the law, but US citizens don't get that opportunity.

Yes, it would be great to have a salad bar available while you're being detained for breaking the law, but US citizens aren't offered free carrot or celery sticks while in jail.

And it would be VERY pleasant to have dance lessons and art classes while you're being detained for breaking the law, but US citizens have to pay for their own hobbies.  And now, evidently, taxpayers are going to be paying for illegal aliens to learn how to waltz out of the country with new skills.

The ICE Council has recently discovered a letter outlining some of these changes:  The document ICE doesn't want taxpayers to know about.   Read it and decide for yourself if this is the kind of detention reform you want to be paying for.  Decide for yourself if you want to allow criminals to wear their own clothes and not allow guard to search them, making it easier to hide weapons with which to assault ICE employees and other detainees, and making it easier for them to escape by blending in with other people in street clothes.  Decide if you want to be paying for dance lessons and 24/7 salad bars.  Decide if you want to pay for criminals to have fresh flowers placed in their cells every day.  Decide for yourself...
